Las Patronas

In a small town called «La Patrona», in the Mexican state of Veracruz, a group of women offer their help to Central American migrants, who, riding on top of a freight train they call «La Bestia», cross Mexico to the United States, through a hard way where they suffer all kinds of aggressions.

Having to face the criticism of a society that did not accept this work, and fearing that they could be arrested for helping illegal migrants, «Las Patronas» have been providing migrants with food and a shelter where they can rest for more than 20 years, and not only that, but also the warmth of mothers who many of them had to abandon in the search of a better life.
